Texas High assistant tennis coach Eric Pickett was honored Saturday by the United States Tennis Association as Coach of the Year for the USTA’s Southern Section.

Pickett received the award at the Southern Tennis Association’s awards ceremony in Raleigh, N.C. The Southern Section includes the states of Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina.
