LONGVIEW, Texas—Two of the top-ranked Class A softball teams in the state will battle it out this week for a berth to next week’s state tournament.

Seventh-ranked Maud and third-ranked Alto play a best-of-three series, which starts at 7 tonight, at Longview’s Leer Park in the Region III-A finals.

Game 2 is slated for 6:30 Friday with a third game, if needed, to follow.
