LONGVIEW, Texas—Maud softball coach Jeff Callahan is approaching Game 2 of the Region III-A championship series like he did the first four playoff games—simply.

“We’re keeping everything the same,” Callahan said about tonight’s 6:30 contest against Alto. “We want to come in like it’s a one-game series, and play like we can and have been.”

The seventh-ranked Lady Cards (24-10) beat the third-ranked Lady Jackets, 7-2, in Tuesday’s opener at Leer Park. If Alto (18-4-1) wins to force a split, a third game will follow the completion of the 6:30 game.
