JACKSONVILLE, Texas—After salvaging Game 2 of the best-of-three Class A, Region III quarterfinals series, McLeod dropped a 5-4 decision to West Rusk in the deciding third game Friday night.

The Longhorns, the District 18-A champions, rebounded from Thursday’s opening-game loss to bury West Rusk, 16-5, in Friday’s first game. No other details were available.

McLeod finished 19-10 on the season.

West Rusk (24-6) takes on another area team, Maud, next week for the regional championship and state tournament berth.
