Bowie’s Best, representing Bowie County Special Olympics, recently returned from the Texas State Special Olympic Summer Games in Arlington with 53 medals.

Twenty-six of the medals were gold, 15 silver and 12 bronze.

Two of the first places came in the 4x100 relays. The relay teams included Justin Crye of New Boston Middle School, Brandon Edwards and Austin Jones of the Pleasant Grove Community and Patrick King of the Hooks Community, and Jeffrey Pierce, Charles Goodwin and Mark Haggins of New Boston High School and Brittany Lewis of Redwater Middle School.
