AUSTIN—Fourth-ranked Maud (25-11) gave no excuses Thursday after losing to Shiner, 11-1, in the UIL’s Class A semifinals at Red McCombs Field.

But that didn’t mean the Lady Cardinals didn’t feel the final score was deceiving.
