The annual Four States Invitational golf tournament starts a three-day run today at Texarkana Country Club, and a new champion will be crowned Sunday.

Defending champs Bruce Hornbuckle and Adam Manuel are not in the field.

The first-round match to watch today could well be the 12:30 p.m. feud between former Texarkana Country Club pro Mike Kennedy and partner Donald Lewis against the veteran Texarkana duo of Cary Patterson and Mike Craven, another former professional.

But club pro Art Romero tabs club members Greg Flanagan and Jon Sheppard as favorites.
