Neither manager Steve Trout nor starting pitcher Brian Barr were around for the finish Friday, but both were key figures in the Gunslingers’ 9-2 rout of Corpus Christi at George Dobson Field.

Barr, making his start of the season, threw 6 2/3 strong innings, but didn’t figure in the decision when the BeachDawgs tied the game. But in the middle of an 8-run seventh by the Gunslingers, Trout showed he had his players’ backs when he led the team onto field in a bench-clearing brawl that led to his ejection.
