BASEBALL: Former Texarkana College pitcher David Welch hurled a 7-inning no-hitter for Class AA Huntsville on his 25th birthday.

Welch struck out six and walked two as the Milwaukee Brewers’ farm club blanked the Chattanooga Lookouts, 2-0, in the second game of a doubleheader Monday night.

It was the second no-hitter for the Stars in as many seasons. Former Texas High standout Corey Thurman combined with Dave Johnson and Luis Pena on a postseason no-hitter for Huntsville last September.
