19-2A All-District Baseball: DeKalb’s Hodges named offensive player of year
DeKalb junior John Hodges has been selected the offensive player of the year in District 19-2A after batting .484 and helping the Bears win a share of the league crown with Chapel Hill and Prairiland.
Chapel Hill junior Matthew Leftwich is the MVP, and teammate Cody Bishop was picked defensive player of the year. The Red Devils’ Brian Grissom was named coach of the year. The remaining superlative honor went to Prairiland sophomore Zach McLamore as newcomer of the year. The Bears had six players named to the first team, including senior pitcher Rodney Payne. ...
