Dawgs steal Texarkana’s thunder

It has been said that speed kills. It may have killed the Texarkana Gunslingers’ five-game winning streak Thursday at George Dobson Field.

Corpus Christi stole six bases, five coming in the sixth and seventh innings as the Beach Dawgs rallied to take a 4-3 lead into the ninth inning.

It was an ugly affair for both teams as they combined for seven errors in the first eight innings.

It all started in the first inning for the Gunslingers, who yielded two unearned runs on errors by pitcher Judson Smith and center fielder Brian Burke.
