Defense was optional Friday at George Dobson Field as the Texarkana Gunslingers and Bay Area combined to commit 10 errors.

Texarkana overcame six of those errors, but took advantage of a three-base error that allowed three runs to score to give the Gunslingers an 8-6 victory over Bay Area.

The win improves first-place Texarkana to 11-2 and extend its lead to 2 1/2 games over the visiting Toros. Bay Area falls to 8-4 in the second half of the Continental Baseball League.
