Closer Recognition

Gunslinger right-handed closer Jack Tilghman shared pitcher of the week honors with Bay Area ace Kevin Cooper this week—the second time both pitchers have won the CBL award.

Tilghman has appeared in seven games since the All-Star break, earning two wins and two saves to extend his league-high total to 11 saves. He fanned 13 batters in eight innings of relief work, allowed no earned runs and only five hits since the break.

Tilghman has struck out 48 batters in 36 1/3 innings for Texarkana and owns a 1.49 ERA.
