Former Arkansas High standout Steve Smith and the Ouachita Baptist University Tigers pulled in several awards on the Natural State Baseball All-Arkansas team recently.

Smith, a 25th round draft pick by the Cleveland Indians, was tabbed as The Natural, given to the best collegiate baseball player from Arkansas, and Pitcher of the Year by NSB.

Smith was also named the NCAA Division II College World Series Most Valuable Player after the Tigers lost in the finals to Mount Olive. He carried a 10-1 record and 2.00 ERA for the year.
