REDWATER, Texas—You might say the Hooks Rangers did it the hard way, but the fact remains—they did it.

First, they suffered an opening-round loss to West, 11-6, in the Texas Teenage (ages 14-and-under) state baseball tournament at the Redwater Sports Complex.

Second, they had to battle all the way back through the losers’ bracket—which they did.

Third, they had to play West, the team that had already beaten them, on Friday morning. They did and won, 17-11.
