Mount Pleasant takes 27-13 decision over Leopards

Liberty-Eylau’s offense was a no-show for the second straight week in the final two quarters.

Held to one first down last week by North Lamar, the Leopards did not get a first down in the second half Friday at Harris Field as Mount Pleasant rallied to beat the Leopards, 27-13.

Mount Pleasant (1-1) put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter when they went to a wishbone offense and methodically marched 65 yards for a touchdown. Junior Cash Thompson came off the bench to carry the ball seven times on the 12-play drive, including the final five yards for the TD.
