SW Arkansas Football: De Queen outscores Mayflower; Ashdown defeated

MAYFLOWER, Ark.—De Queen faced a tough test to start its season. The Leopards were up to the challenge.

J.J. Hendrix ran for two scores and 189 yards on 12 carries for De Queen in a 41-28 victory over host Mayflower, and Greg White also ran for two touchdowns.

Zack Taylor was 3 of 5 on extra points, and Jamario Ervin returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown for the Leopards.

De Queen travels to Harmony Grove next week for the second step of a four-game road trip to open its season.
