Despite a few early hiccups, Arkansas High cruised in its 6A-South volleyball opener against J.A. Fair Thursday at Razorback Gym.

The Lady Backs built a 6-0 lead in Game 1, held off the Lady War Eagles late and went on to sweep Fair, 25-22, 25-16, 25-11, to improve to 8-2.

The athletic but error-prone War Eagles led just five points in the entire match, and AHS settled down for the lopsided victory.
