QUEEN CITY, Texas—Victor Powell scored three touchdowns on runs of 65, 60 and 10 yards Thursday to lead New Boston’s junior varsity past Queen City, 36-16.

Garrett Burnett also scored for the Lions on a 1-yard run, and Shakeem Jefferson returned an interception 87 yards for a TD. Burnett scored a pair of 2-pointers.

Ben Waltz scored both of Queen City’s touchdowns.



Hooks JV wins

ELYSIAN FIELDS, Texas—Augustine Garcia scored on runs of 15 and 75 yards to lead Hooks junior varsity past Elysian Fields, 26-6.
