Bowling is all about improvement. Bowlers, for the most part, want to post better scores than they did last week.

That principle is the theme of this week’s column.

With the start of leagues on both sides of town a few weeks ago—like the beginning of most leagues—scores will fluctuate. Bowlers may come in and shoot extremely well in the opener and then struggle to match that mark for a while.

On the flip side, bowlers—experienced or newcomers—can perform not so well on the opening night of their leagues but rebound nicely the next time on the lanes.
