BASKETBALL: New East Texas Baptist University women’s basketball coach Lane Loyd announced Thursday that his father, former Avinger coach Ken Loyd, has been hired to be his second assistant.

Earlier in the summer Lane Loyd hired former Tiger guard Carlos Marbot as his top assistant.

“We are excited but know we have a lot of work to do,” Lane said. “With his (Ken) experience he has developed so many contacts and created so many relationships over the years that he will be an invaluable asset to our program as we move forward.”
