SIMMS, Texas—Ninth-ranked Quinlan Boles pounded out 364 rushing yards to hand James Bowie its first loss of the season, 41-20, here Friday in both teams’ final district tuneup.

Joe Gilliard scored four touchdowns for the Hornets (5-0), who built a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

Nic Pistolis rushed for two of the Pirates’ touchdowns on runs of 32 and 10 yards. Chad Atchley ran 6 yards for James Bowie’s third-quarter TD.

Gilliard had scoring runs of 68 yards, 15 and 53 yards and also caught a 65-yard pass from Caleb Wallace.
