MAGNOLIA, Ark.—Southern Arkansas University’s 2008 Homecoming had a festive atmosphere. There was joy, fear and finally relief.

The Muleriders survived a furious rally by Arkansas Tech in the final 10 minutes to score their first win of the season at Wilkins Stadium, 45-42.

SAU (1-5, 1-3) executed its offense flawlessly for more than three quarters, including a 16-play, 99-yard drive that quarterback Quintin Porter ended with a 3-yard dash. Noe’ Cuevas PAT made it 45-14 with 12:26 left to play.
