This weekend gives those chasing deer in Arkansas the first chance with a powder weapon.

The season for the smoke pole officially opens Saturday 30 minutes before sunrise, whether you are in the Little River/Sevier zone or the Miller/Hempstead zone. Both seasons run until 30 minutes past sunset on Oct. 26.

The limit for this area is four deer with a maximum of two legal bucks. A buck must still have at least one antler with at least three points an inch long.
