LINDEN, Texas—It went to a fifth-game tiebreaker, but Hughes Springs outlasted Linden-Kildare in a hard-fought District 17-2A volleyball match here Friday.

Hughes Springs won 16-25, 25-10, 25-23, 21-25, 15-13.

Both teams are now 7-3 in district and share third place behind Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill and Daingerfield.

The Lady Mustangs were led by Julie McKinney with 11 kills and 5 digs, Ashley Edmiston and Alex Trevino had 9 digs each, and Jaimie Burson15 assists.
