Southlake Carroll senior Kyle Gist was one of five golfers to shoot under par Saturday during second round playing of the first annual Texas High Classic at Texarkana Country Club.

Gist proved to be an even better prognosticator afterwards, predicting the outcome would be close coming down to the end.

Senior Brad Lyle was among the last to sign his scorecard, and his 5-over-par 77 was good enough to give Richardson Pearce a 36-hole total of 605 and a one-stroke victory over Southlake Carroll and Edmond North.
