MOUNT VERNON, Texas—Pleasant Grove forced four turnovers and shut out host Mount Vernon, 23-0, Thursday in junior varsity football.

Will Powell flung two touchdowns to Hayden Frank, covering 65 and 10 yards, and Jason Day ran 3 yards for another Hawk TD. Michael Ward was 2 of 3 on extra-point kicks and also booted a 27-yard field goal.

Melvin Gray and Lucas Wacha also played well on defense.
