Liberty-Eylau’s girls won the battle, but lost the war and the playoff draw.

The 14th-ranked Lady Leopards survived five match-points in the fourth game and rallied to hand seventh-ranked Pleasant Grove its only loss in District 16-3A, 14-25, 24-26, 25-13, 30-28, 15-7, Tuesday at the Rader Dome.

The district title was decided before this classic encounter. Pleasant Grove (30-10, 9-1) had already unseated L-E as league champions, claiming their 13 league title in 14 years, and the Leopards (27-8, 8-2) were already assured of second place.
