One day and a wakeup is all that separates the duck and deer hunters from opening day. What a frenzy it will be Friday evening as stuff is collected and tossed into pickup trucks for the early-morning trip to the woods.

Texas is the first to open their duck season 30 minutes prior to sunrise this Saturday. Reports from area duck hunters have a good number of ducks already in town for the opener. Reports from Patman have lots of ducks, pintails are already traveling through for their trip south and lots of widgeon and woodies abound.
