Pleasant Grove looks to avoid last year’s disappointment of an opening-round playoff defeat when the Lady Hawks begin play tonight.

PG takes on Princeton in an area playoff game at Mount Pleasant at 7 p.m.

“Princeton is a solid team,” said first-year PG head coach Jenny Coon. “They have a big middle blocker that seems to be the key to their team. We will have to be ready for her.”

The Hawks are ranked 12th by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, while Princeton is unranked.
