ORE CITY, Texas—James Bowie twice had the lead, but the Lady Pirates ended up falling to Big Sandy in five games in a Class A area volleyball match Thursday night at Ore City High School.

Big Sandy rallied to win the fourth game 25-15 to tie the match at two games each, then nipped the Pirates 17-15 in the rubber game.

James Bowie won the first and third games by scores of 25-15 and 25-21 after losing Game 2, 25-22.

The Pirates finished with a 24-11 recor on the year.
