PRESCOTT, Ark.—Prescott coach Greg Smith expected a tough battle against Rison for the District 7-3A title, and his Curley Wolves had to hold on for a 22-15 victory Friday at Cummins Stadium.

Prescott (9-1) enters the state playoffs as the district’s No. 1 seed while Rison, also 9-1, finishes second. The Wolves were 7-0 in district while the Wildcats wound up 6-1.

The Curley Wolves’ defense had to stop two Wildcat drives in the fourth quarter to preserve the hard-fought victory.
