The end result was no different than usual when North Lamar and Texas High meet in girls basketball, but first-year head coach Vince Minter saw a noticeable difference in his Lady Tigers Thursday night at Tiger Center.

“There was a huge difference in our confidence between last year and tonight,” Minter said after a 3-point attempt at the final buzzer banged off the rim, leaving THS on the short end of a 55-52 decision in the season-opener for both teams. “It was like night and day. The girls really played hard.”
