ROYSE CITY, Texas—DeKalb did just about everything right.

The Bears were 5 of 5 on fourth-down conversions, scored on all but three drives—including the final possession of each half—and upset Melissa, 31-21, Thursday in a Class 2A, Division II (small school) football bi-district game at Bulldog Stadium.

Brandon Holloway ran and threw for a touchdown in the second half, Zach Jones turned in a workhorse effort with 38 carries for 156 yards, and Nick LaToof caught a TD pass and booted four extra points and a field goal.
