LONGVIEW, Texas—When Dennis Alexander coached Daingerfield back in the 1980s, the Tigers were known for stingy defenses and shutouts.

Alexander, now the coach at Harleton, faced his old team for the first time in the Class 2A football playoffs Friday night at Pine Tree’s Pirate Stadium.

This time Daingerfield gave their former mentor a taste of his own medicine as the Tigers shut out the outmanned Wildcats, 49-0, in bi-district action in Region II, Division II (small school).
