Arkansas High’s quest for a third straight 6A state championship faces a major roadblock in the form of top-ranked West Memphis next week.

AHS (5-6) earned its trip to West Memphis Friday by outscoring Little Rock Parkview, 40-21. The Blue Devils (9-0-1) had a first-round bye.

Class 4A’s No. 1 team Nashville (10-0) makes its postseason debut Friday at home against Stuttgart (10-1). The Ricebirds finished second to Lonoke in 2-4A, and won their playoff opener over Trumann, 42-14. The Scrappers are in search of a fourth consecutive state title.
