With only two players returning with varsity experience, Texas High’s boys basketball fortunes will likely rest with younger players who have enjoyed success at the sub-varsity levels.

Chris Pennington, whose Tigers finished 11-16 in his debut season as head coach last year, is counting heavily on players from last year’s junior varsity and freshman teams, both of which won district titles.
