GLADEWATER, Texas—If there were any major league scouts at Jack V. Murphy Bears Stadium Thursday night, they might have been interested in Maud’s J. T. Stanley.

The Cardinal safety played a terrific centerfield against Grapeland in the Region III-A, Division II area-round playoff game, intercepting three Jared Murray passes as Maud’s defense dominated the Sandies, 26-7.

The No. 1-ranked Cardinals (11-0) advances to next week’s regional semifinals against the winner of tonight’s game between Normangee and Evadale.
