Texas Can Academy’s basketball team was a late arrival at Tiger Center Friday night, and the Trojans got an even later start after the opening tip.

The Tigers jumped to a 23-3 first-quarter lead, expanded it to 44-8 at halftime and cruised to a 77-31 victory to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

In the first game on the doubleheader card, the Lady Tigers outscored New Boston 34-12 in the second and third quarters to post a 55-36 win.
