STARKVILLE, Miss.—For Mississippi State tailback Anthony Dixon, subtraction led to quite a bit of addition.

Dixon rushed for a career-high 179 yards and had three touchdowns to help Mississippi State snap a nine-game losing streak to Arkansas in a 31-28 victory Saturday. The performance came after coach Sylvester Croom “restricted” his options on running plays.

“Overall he played with more discipline and poise today,” Croom said. “No pretty-boy running. He blocked, he ran routes, he hit his holes.”
