ROYSE CITY, Texas—Celina is Celina for a reason.

The defending state champion Bobcats, who have played 16 games in each of the last three years, jumped on Pleasant Grove early and often, piled up over 400 yards of offense and eliminated the Hawks from the state playoffs with a 52-21 victory in the Class 3A, Division II Region II semifinals Friday at Royse City High School.

Four-year starter Troy McCartney was a Hawk-killer as he was in on five Celina touchdowns. McCartney ran for 163 yards and three scores, caught a TD and flung another.
