James receives honor from conference


Associated Press Former Liberty-Eylau all-stater LaMichael James has been named the Pac-10 offensive player of the week after rushing for a career-best 183 yards and a touchdown in Oregon’s 47-20 upset of then fourth-ranked Southern California.
Just Google LaMichael James’ name if you don’t believe he’s become a nationwide football celebrity.

The former Liberty-Eylau all-stater had ESPN and West Coast sports writers swarming him for an interview last Saturday after running for a career-best 183 yards and a touchdown in helping Oregon shock Southern California 47-20.

The Pacific-10 took note of James’ fifth consecutive 100-yard performance on Monday, naming him the conference’s offensive player of the week.

That news reached Texarkana faster than it did to some Oregon publications as James texted me...
