DOUGLASVILLE, Ga.-A Georgia sheriff is offering a $10,000 reward for information that results in an arrest and conviction after someone opened fire on the home of one of his deputies.
Douglas County Sheriff Phil Miller said in a statement that someone Monday evening "shot up the house" of the Douglas County deputy, who lives in nearby Paulding County. No one was hurt.
Paulding County sheriff's officials said the deputy wasn't in the home at the time of the drive-by shooting, but was in the area and heard several gunshots. Several bullet holes were found, including one through a window.
The shooting comes after several threats against officers nationwide, and separate shootings in July that claimed the lives of three law officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and five police officers in Dallas.
