Ted Cruz: Was Donald Trump's rival right to drop out of race?

Republican voters got a big surprise on Tuesday after Donald Trump's win in the Indiana primary.

Not the victory. That was no surprise.

The shocker was that Trump's chief rival, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, decided to drop out of the race.

Cruz was trailing significantly in the delegate count before Indiana and apparently felt his position was untenable after that primary. Even his unusual pre-convention announcement of former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as his running mate didn't make a difference.

Still, few expected Cruz to simply give up. He seemed intent on fighting it out and hopefully taking the nomination at a contested convention.

We want to know what you think.

Was Ted Cruz right to drop out of the race for the GOP nomination? Or should he have stayed in contention?

Last Week: Women and the draft

Last week's poll was about women and Selective Service.

Should young women be required to register for the draft just as men are? Or should registration remain strictly for young men?

I was not aware that 18-year-olds still had to register for the draft. I know a little bit about being drafted-I was drafted in 1959. On the topic here about young girls registering-of course they should! And lately in the news, women want to become combat soldiers. Women have become great pilots. So if young men still have to register, young women should too.-B.J., Texarkana, Texas

Women should not be drafted. They shouldn't serve in combat either. There are physical differences between men and women. Even liberals should know that. What is wrong with this country?-J.C., Texarkana, Texas
