Tax Reform?: Do you believe the president's plan will benefit you, the nation?

Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives passed preliminary budget legislation Thursday that could help clear the way for President Donald's Trump's tax reform plan.

Most American agree tax reform is needed. But just how to do it is the stumbling block.

Supporters say the president's plan offer much needed tax cuts to investors and businesses-such as reducing individual and corporate tax rates and allowing profits stored overseas to be repatriated at a low rate-that will in turn stimulate the economy. They also hail the end of the alternative minimum tax.

Critics say the plan would shift more of the tax burden to the working and middle classes by eliminating or reducing deductions for mortgage interest and for state and local income taxes and possibly putting stricter limits on before-tax retirement contributions, but would give large tax breaks to corporation and wealthy individuals.

We want to know what you think. Do you think President Trump's tax-cut proposal will benefit your family and the country at large? Or do you think it will largely benefit corporations and the rich?

Last Week: Halloween

With the holiday fast approaching, we wanted to know if you and your family still celebrate Halloween. Do your children still go trick or treating? Do they go to parties?

Do they attend a festival at your church? How do you celebrate Halloween?

Halloween is still popular, but in different ways. It used to be neighborhood trick or treating. Not any more; it's not so safe. Churches, malls and home parties is how the old holiday is celebrated. I don't celebrate, but do enjoy looking forward to the first holiday coming up, being Halloween, then Thanksgiving and Christmas.-B.J., Texarkana, Texas

My boys are all grown so trick or treating and festivals are no longer a thing in our home. But I still decorate and give out candy as not all kids can attend the festivals for one reason or another and I do not want those children to be left out and not have an opportunity to enjoy themselves.

We do a hayride in our neighborhood and go trick or treating on Halloween Night. It's become a cherished tradition that the kids look forward to.

I'm in Murfreesboro. We have a town fall fest and have "trunk or treat" where cars back up along the town square and all the kids go from trunk to trunk getting candy.

This is done on the Saturday of Halloween or the weekend closest to the actual holiday.

We do festivals and such the weekend before or the day of if it falls on a weekend. On Halloween night, we go trick or treating. It's tradition and I don't want my kids missing out on the fun. We do pick safe neighborhoods and walk with them for now.

I usually sacrifice a few goats, and then summon and hang out with the spirits of my ancestors.

 Nope.
