Never Too Late: Arkansas man, 65, makes his dream come true

It's never too late.

How many times have we head that? Some may think it's just so many words.

But not Freddie Reynolds.

Reynolds, 65, was a custodian by trade. He worked in hospitals and malls. But he had a long-nourished dream. Reynolds wanted to be a fashion designer.

Say what? A janitor wanted to design clothes? At an age when most are looking at retirement?

Yes indeed. But unlike so many who have a dream, Reynolds took action. He enrolled in the Arkansas Fashion School in Little Rock. And was one of 11 students chosen to present his collection of designs during Fashion Week in New York, where the industry and deep-pocketed clients gather every September to see what's new and hot from the world's top designers.

Seeing his creations modeled on the runway was a dream come true for Reynolds, who is still in school. He hopes to design professionally when he graduates.

In our view, he's off to a great start.

Lots of folks have dreams that they put off for one reason or another. And then, as the years add up, they let age stand in the way of making their dream come true.

Well, there is always no time like the present to change that mindset. Just like Freddie Reynolds.
