New form of meth adds flavor for a younger market
New form of meth adds flavor for a younger market
Just when you think the dope dealers cant get any lower, they find a way. Something so disgusting that it defies belief and assaults even the most degenerated standards of decency. Methamphetamine producers have started marketing flavored versions of the drug in an effort to appeal to a younger and younger crowd. The flavored drug, already seen on the West Coast, has now made its way to Texas and Arkansas, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration and police agencies. Strawberry is the most common flavor. Known on the street as ‘Strawberry Quick’ the red meth crystals look somewhat like the old candy ‘Pop Rocks and are usually snorted. The DEA says meth makers are branching out into other flavors as well, including chocolate and cola. DEA officials say that despite being cheap and highly addictive, the word is getting out about how incredibly bad meth is, so producers are looking to expand the market. And the market they are targeting is children. The dealers are putting out the word the candy-flavored meth is somehow less dangerous. Some drug dealers are even crushing up the meth crystals and marketing the drug as a powdered energy drink. Well, flavored meth is just meth. It is every bit as destructive and addictive. If anything, the flavored version is that much more of a threat because it more easily marketed to gullible users. Are there no limits to what these meth peddlers will do? There must be a special place in perdition for the kind of sick minds that could come up with a product like flavored meth. Or perhaps not. Someone whose greed would allow him to sell drugs to children in any circumstance likely sold his soul long before. Anyone involved in this trade should be locked up for a very long time. And parole officials should remember the lives destroyed and the children put at risk whenever they have to decide whether to let such an offender loose on the streets again. |
