TCL announces Texarkana to get expansion team

Contest will allow residents to name team; season will begin summer '17

Texarkana, Texas, is getting its own Texas Collegiate League team.

Clutch Entertainment Group announced that its second sports franchise will call George Dobson Field at Spring Lake Park its new home.

The summer baseball expansion team will take the field in the summer of 2017.

In an effort to capture the local excitement for this new team, there will be a name the team contest. Residents can visit texarkanabaseball.com to provide their suggestion for the team name. Five finalists will be selected, and the community can vote online until Nov. 21.

The team is also introducing the first ever money back fun guarantee for its early season-ticket holders. This membership offer will be available for a limited time and includes special recognition on Opening Day with a commemorative team gift, and team voting rights on a variety of topics. The fun guarantee is 100 percent money back guaranteed if members didn't have fun at the ballpark.

"We believe we have created the first fun guarantee in sports," said Team President Uri Geva. "Fans will have the opportunity to come enjoy non-stop entertainment and baseball for just $9 per month.

"We couldn't be more excited to become a huge part of the Texarkana community. We have quickly fallen in love with this community and historic George Dobson Field and can't wait to deliver our unique form of baseball and entertainment."

Clutch Entertainment Group owns and operates the Brazos Valley Bombers of the Texas Collegiate League.
