Razorbacks come out swinging in state tournament

CONWAY, Ark.-The Texarkana Razorbacks started the American Legion Arkansas state tournament in dominant fashion.
The Red River Credit Union/TABA Hogs batted around three times in the first five innings and hammered a young Searcy team, 24-0, Friday at Bear Field on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas.
Patrick Flanagan pitched five innings of 1-hit ball to earn the pitching win. The right-hander threw 63 pitches, struck out five and walked none.
Austin Stubber pitched two hitless innings of relief and fanned five.
Texarkana (29-8) plays Little Rock Post 1 at 4 p.m. today at Hendrix College.
The Razorbacks batted around in the first and third innings, taking a 13-0 lead in the third inning on 10 hits and three Searcy errors.
Riley Orr bunted for a hit with one out in the first, and he scored on John Michael Russ' stand-up double to deep left-center. The next batter reached on catcher's interference, and Beau Burson hammered a 2-run triple off the wall in left-center, just under the 370-foot marker.
Cole Boyd lined a run-scoring hit to center to make it 4-0, and a hit batsman and error loaded the bases. Parker Ribble belted a 2-run double over the second baseman.
A Texarkana runner was stranded at third in the second inning, but four more runs scored in the third before an out was recorded.
Following a throwing error to start the inning, Logan Vidrine bunted for a hit, and a walk to Ribble loaded the bases. Orr plated two with his double to right-center, and Russ picked up two more RBI with his line-drive single to left-center.
Garmany grounded a 2-run single to left after a pair of walks loaded the bases once more. Tyler Moreland singled home Garmany for the 13-run lead.
Garmany singled in a run in the third after a single by Will Smith and Burson's double. Moreland had a sacrifice fly to score Burson.
Searcy struggled to throw strikes in the fifth, and the Razorbacks pushed nine more runs across despite runners moving just station to station.
Orr was 4 for 6 with a walk. He scored four runs, had two doubles and 3 RBI. Russ was 4 for 7 with a double and 4 RBI, Garmany also had 4 RBI, Burson was 3 for 5 with a triple and double, driving in three, and Boyd was 2 for 2 with 3 RBI.
