Season tickets on sale for upcoming Twins season

It's getting to be that time of the year again.

As basketball season dwindles down and spring approaches, baseball season can be seen on the horizon. And for the Texarkana Twins, there's plenty of excitement awaiting for their third season in the Texas Collegiate League.

The Twins' season-opener isn't until May, but their offseason schedule has already begun. The ballclub has been busy signing players and bringing in a new coaching staff, which includes the likes of father-son duo Rick and Zach Fowler. Rick, who led Liberty-Eylau to a state championship in 2006, coached the Leopards' baseball program for 30 years, while his son, Zach, has been the coach there for three seasons.

Bill Clay comes in to be the Twins' manager for the upcoming season.

Also new to the scene is General Manager Michelle Citty, who has helped secure a full schedule for the season, including theme nights and firework shows. Texarkana will also host the 2019 TCL All-Star game.

As the season approaches, fans can go ahead and buy season tickets now or get information on becoming a host family.

Many of the players on the team are in a new environment and away from both home and school. With the Host Family Program, however, the goal is to help players adjust to moving to a new area, assist them as they get acquainted with the community, and provide a safe and stable living environment.

Host families will also receive season tickets.

For more information on becoming a host family, a sponsor or to reserve a party deck, call Citty at 903-490-0025 or email [email protected]. To purchase season tickets, contact Citty at 903-490-0025 or 903-294-PLAY (7529), email [email protected], or visit TexarkanaTwins.com.
